(Summer HAF Programme)

If your tail’s wagging already, then you may want to join our pack this summer and become our “HAF Pack Co-ordinator”, helping lead our exciting Summer Holiday Programme in 2026! (Dates haven't been finalised yet, but are likely to be the first three weeks of August).
This role is ideal for a naturally confident, positive, approachable, and passionate hooman, who can create amazing experiences for children and young people, whilst ensuring that every day runs like a walk in the park. We are looking for a BIG personality, HIGH energy, and a CAN DO attitude, just as much (or more than) actual work experience.
Not only will you support our Helping Paws (staff), and Pack Leaders (children helpers), you will also help welcome mini-hoomans on arrival, ensure they always feel safe and supported, but most of all, help create the exciting, warm and inclusive atmosphere that the Dog Squad is known for.

Monday–Friday during the first 3 weeks of August 2026, plus 1 additional HAF day the following week.

🐶 About the Role
As "Dog Squad Co-ordinator", you will fetch the important role in helping ensure sessions are organised, engaging, safe, and running smoothly throughout the day.
This is a "paws-on"-role, where no two days are the same— from replying to emails and calls from parents and carers, supporting activity leaders, liaising with workshop providers and helping activities stay on time, through to creating an environment for children where they can feel excitement, achievement and pride - feelings they will remember furr-ever. 🐾
You will not be responsible for organising bookings, activities, or programme planning, as these will already be arranged. Instead, your focus will be helping oversee the day-to-day delivery and ensuring sessions flow successfully on the ground.
You will report to an experienced line manager who will be available by phone throughout the delivery for support and guidance, alongside experienced HAF staff who love nothing more than welcoming and helping a new member to our supportive pack.
🐾 Main Responsibilities
- Welcoming mini-hoomans, parents/carers and visitors each day
- Helping sessions start, transition,and finish smoothly and on time
- Supporting staff teams and helping ensure activities run as planned
- Helping create a fun, energetic and inclusive atmosphere
- Liaising with external providers, entertainers,and venue caretakers to confirm their attendance while ensuring they start and finish on time.
- Encouraging engagement, participation and positive behaviour
- Understanding the needs of every child, and ensuring they can participate in a way that feels right for them
- Supporting children aged approximately 7–12 during activities and trips
- Assisting with setup, resources and session organisation
- Helping maintain safeguarding, wellbeing and health & safety procedures
- Acting as a positive role model for children and young people, and always putting the childrens safety first
Who We Are Looking For
For this role, personality, people skills, confidence, proactive thinking, and organisation are vital.
We understand you may not have extensive professional experience, BUT if you naturally have the energy, confidence, and organisational skills, you will thrive in this role.

Experience working with children, youth groups, holiday clubs, sports coaching, performing arts, SEND support or community projects is desirable but not essential.
🐾 Recruitment & Pre-Delivery Process
As part of the recruitment process, shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend two pre-delivery sessions.
1 x Mock HAF Delivery Observation Session
Candidates will attend a mock HAF delivery day where they can observe Dog Squad sessions, staff interactions and programme delivery within a replicated setting.
This will include:
- 2 hours observing morning delivery
- Lunch provided
- 1.5 hours observing afternoon delivery and debrief
This session is designed to help candidates:
- Understand the role
- Experience the pace and atmosphere of
- Decide whether the role is right for
- Allow Dog Squad to observe communication, engagement,and suitability within a live environment, with REAL mini-hoomans who have attended our HAF cubs for years.
As this forms part of the interview and assessment process, only lunch and reasonable daily expenses will be covered for this session.
1 x Governance & Safeguarding Training Session
Candidates successfully progressing from the observation session will then be invited to attend a paid pre-delivery governance and safeguarding training session lasting approximately 1.5 hours.
This session will cover:
- Safeguarding expectations
- Professional boundaries
- Behaviour support approaches
- Health & safety
- Inclusion and SEND awareness
- Session expectations and team responsibilities
